Transitions

“Do not feel lonely, the entire universe is inside you.” – Rumi

As I write this—my final blog as a member of the Rooted Compassion therapy team—I contemplate both the beauty and the pain of transition. It has been my intention for years that I would, at some point, begin a solo counseling practice. I’m so excited to continue my professional journey working with clients at my new practice, Wellness Lens Counseling. While it feels like the right time for making this shift to follow my own pathway for learning, creating, and serving others, it’s not without some pause and considerable sadness that I leave this group of intelligent, accepting, and supportive people that I’ve been privileged to be a part of here at Rooted Compassion. I have so much appreciation for the opportunities to learn and share that have been created with such vision and focus by Amy Sullivan and for the wonderfully rich professional experience--a co-creation born of the sharing of safe presence, unique perspective, and hard-earned experience of each member of the team. I will carry this shared experience with me always and everywhere. I would love to continue to build and deepen professional connections with each of you, so just know that I will be reaching out-- whether about the content of our work or even just to share some tea and a walk as friends.

To those considering counseling themselves and to other professional therapists, I’m fully confident in recommending that you explore the possibility of working with a member of the Rooted Compassion team!

To all of those from whom I’ve received the gift of growth and to all of those I’ve still to meet:

Gratitude, peace, and light to each of you!

Be well,

Julie

Rooted Compassion was consciously created to help others realize their dreams, both our clinicians and clients. When Julie accepted my offer to work with us at Rooted Compassion, I was overjoyed. She is smart, kind and compassionate in a way that feels so grounding to me. Julie and I attended the same master’s program at Union Institute and University. I met her shortly after I finished. I felt immediately comfortable with her as I know her clients do.

As a member of our team, she kept great attention to detail and this was helpful as we built and refined our processes and day to day work. She holds high ethics and is to be trusted immensely. Julie also initiated out of the office events and led our team on the NAMI walk this spring. She helped create our team culture in such a positive way. I and the Rooted Compassion team will miss Julie’s enthusiasm, love of dogs and great insights. We will also miss seeing her dogs, William and Hazel during our Zoom team meetings! We cannot recommend Julie highly enough and look forward to staying in touch with her!

“There will be times when standing alone feels too hard, too scary, and we’ll doubt our ability to make our way through the uncertainty. Someone, somewhere, will say, ‘Don’t do it. You don’t have what it takes to survive the wilderness.’ This is when you reach deep into your heart and remind yourself, ‘I am the wilderness.‘”

~Brene Brown

You are the wilderness, Julie! You have everything it takes to fulfill your dreams!

With gratitude,

Amy
